Fracture Sounds – Dulciano (KONTAKT) 2021
Piano played with hammers sampled in incredible detail in the ambiance of a modern concert hall.
Dulciana is a grand piano played with cymbal hammers. This unique hybrid instrument reproduces a cymbal-like or cymbal-like sound, but longer strings and a larger piano platform give the instrument a richer tone and longer sustain. The instrument also has a much wider reproducibility range than cymbals or standard cymbals (A0 to E6).
As with all our libraries, the goal of this tool was to make the game as simple as possible. We have captured many dynamic characteristics controlled by speed. Higher speeds produce short single beats - an articulation commonly used in cymbal music. Continuous throws are activated by lifting the mod wheel or pressing the keyboard later.
Dulciana was recorded in a modern concert hall (in the same room as many of our other libraries) and includes three configurable microphone positions, giving you more flexibility when placing the instrument in your mix. Nearby microphones are almost completely dry, providing an intimate studio sound in solitude. Far microphones have exactly what you need for remote surround sound without reverb. The perspective slider under the mixer allows you to easily switch between mixing close and far. We've also included a built-in convolutional reverb that offers even more control over the amount of space in the mix.
